Frederic Patras is the director of the CNRS GDR (Groupement de Recherche) Renormalization. His research interests cover Hopf algebras, combinatorics and their applications to probability, statistics, quantum chemistry or theoretical physics. He authored around 100 publications -books, research articles and proceedings. His contributions include results on the structure of general Hopf algebras and combinatorial Hopf algebras, Lie theory, preLie and Rota-Baxter algebras. Particularly relevant for the project are a series of recent works on Hopf algebraic, shuffle algebra, preLie and operadic structures in free probability.
