Vincent Pilaud is a specialist of permutahedra and associahedra and their generalizations, in particular from the perspective of their polytopal realizations. His geometric contributions include in particular the construction of quotientopes (a long-standing open question by Reading), the study of polytopal realizations of \(g\)-vector fans of cluster algebras, and the construction of gentle associahedra. His algebraic contributions concern generalizations of the Malvenuto--Reutenauer and the Loday--Ronco Hopf algebras to various families of lattice quotients of the weak order.
